Oh, Children
- Kyla (my 10 year-old sister): Why do people have you-know-what?
- Me: Because it feels good
- Kyla: No it doesnt. He’s just peeing into your vag.
- Me: No he’s not
- Kyla: Well, he’s peeing sperm into your vag.
- Me: No, he’s not.
- Kyla: Well, he’s pouring sperm into your vag. Why cant people find something else to do? Like art, or singing?
- Me: Because it’s a basic human instinct.
- Kyla: What does that mean?

Atheists: Do you get offended when people say they’ll pray for you? Religious people: Have you ever switched churches/youth groups and if so what was it like going to a new one for the first time?
I don’t get offended, I think it’s nice that they care.
However, prayer, like religion, exists to make people feel better about what we can’t control. God supposedly has a “plan” for everyone, so even if you pray it won’t change anything since he’s already got everything worked out. So prayer is pretty much pointless. What’s even more pointless is “prayer requests” where people are like “O guise pray 4 me cuz im sik” and that is absolutely ridiculous. It gives you the idea that maybe god will listen if everyone asks. Religion isn’t a democracy! Prayer requests have nothing to do with God, and are just there to support the person in need. Which isn’t a bad thing if it makes people feel better, but it still has nothing to do with the big guy in the sky.
Religion is just one giant therapy group: it makes stuff up to try to make you feel better about things you just can’t fix, like death and disease and loss, because most of us just can’t cope with the idea that there’s an end of life.
P.S. a lot of these ideas are what led me to quit religion.

Nerdfighter Mornings in my House
- Mum: what? Is it a party in the kitchen
- Me: I just came in here to make tea and everyone stalked me
- Mum: Because you're the center of our universe
- Me: There is no center of the universe because the universe has no edge.
- Mum: You're deep this morning
All the love questions @you
Do you like Valentine’s Day, or are you one of those people who always bitches about it?
http://www.facebook.com/notes/katja-frisinger/a-pro-valentines-day-rant/10150588686274487
What was the best Valentine’s Day you’ve experienced?
I loved the feeling of knowing I have you, even if we did fight yesterday.
In terms of like… Valentine’s Day celebrations, though, in 6th grade we really played it up and had a “Secret Cupid” thing, and I was with my first “boyfriend” and he gave me stuff and sent me a Valentine’s Day Gram and stuff. Then that day we went on the ski trip, and on the train there we played spin the bottle, and I kissed a guy on the lips for the first time oh em gee.
Who are some people you love? Did you make a point of telling them so on Valentine’s Day?
I love a lot of people, and on Valentine’s Day I just like to think about how truly awesome the people around me are, so I do make a point of telling them, and giving them little heart sticky notes and gay stuff like that.
Who do you love the most?
You (Anthony)
Have you ever been in love?
I am currently.
What is the difference between loving and being in love? How can you tell which one you feel?
I think they’re very different, actually. You can love lots of people. You can love your friends and family and dogs and cats and what not. Being in love is when you put one specific person’s needs before yours. You are completely yourself with them, and don’t care about whether or not you look perfect because you trust that through their eyes you’re always perfect. It’s when you look at that one person and even if you may notice their flaws, you couldn’t care less because through your eyes they are perfect.
Do you think it’s possible to stop loving someone?
It’s possible to stop loving someone, but it’s not possible to stop being in love.
When a relationship ends, do you think you fell out of love, or that you were never in love to begin with? Or do you have some other belief?
This is related to the previous question. I don’t believe you can fall out of love. I think that when you break up, you were never truly in love. I believe love is sort of like energy: It can’t be created or destroyed, but can change from one form to another. When a relationship ends, you may have loved the person, but your love has shifted from being romantic, to just friendly. You never stopped loving them, but you were never in love either.
